Subject Choice When Scaling is Used

Prerequisite subjects aside, students should choose subjects for which they show aptitude and interest and which will provide them with a challenge as there will be not be any selection of subjects that lead to a higher tertiary entrance score.

Students are strongly advised not to choose subjects because they anticipate that they will be scaled "up" as they will still receive the tertiary entrance score that they deserve through their actual ability to achieve.

While it will not be possible to enhance a tertiary entrance score by choosing particular subjects it may be possible for very able students to choose easy subjects that will not allow them to distinguish themselves above the performance of others. This could lead to a slightly lower tertiary entrance score than would otherwise be possible.
