Subject: Tasmanian Certificate of Educational Achievement (TCEA)
Date: May 1, 2012
Dear TQA Co-ordinator,
The Tasmanian Certificate of Educational Achievement (TCEA) is a quality assured certificate issued by the TQA that describes achievement through narrative.
The TCEA is designed for the small number of students whose learning and achievement is often not adequately recognised by standardised forms of certification to provide a fairer and more just account of their senior secondary learning success.
More information about the TCEA, eligibility criteria and approval processes is available on our website at http://www.tqa.tas.gov.au/2218
Students, in association with their education provider, who wish to apply for the certificate, will need to complete a TCEA Application Form. The application form should be completed and forwarded to the TQA by the 30th May 2012.
In approving applications, the TQA confirms that both the student and the provider understand that the education provider:
will assist the student in the collection and retention of supportive material
will make available the resources necessary to draft the narrative material which will form the report
will meet any quality assurance requirements determined by the Tasmanian Qualifications Authority (TQA).
In addition, the TQA will confirm that the student attends college on a regular basis and within any agreed attendance terms between the date on which this approval is given and the date for lodgment with the TQA in 2012.
