Subject: Comments invited on draft Philosophy course
Date: November 8, 2011
On November 4 the TQA received a complete submission of a proposed Philosophy TQA level 3 course that falls outside the Authority's "Strategic Framework for TQA Accredited Senior Secondary Course Development 2011". A draft copy of this philosophy course is now available for comment. We regret any inconvenience caused by this necessarily late posting.
The draft is available at the webpage:
The TQA invites you to comment on the following issues:
* are there any significant impediments to your organisation delivering this course if it wished to do so?
* if your organisation were to deliver this course, are there any special transition arrangements needed for students in existing courses?
* is there any significant item of learning that should be removed from/added to the course?
* are there any reasons the Authority should consider sufficient grounds for refusing to accredit this course?
Please note that this invitation for comment is part of the accreditation process and comments need to address one or more of the issues noted above. This is not part of the course development process, as that stage is now complete.
Comments should be sent to me via email by 18 Nov 2011.
