2017 SPECIAL DISABILITY PROVISIONS FOR EXTERNAL EXAMINATIONS
The Office of Tasmanian Assessment, Standards & Certification (TASC) provides for special assessment arrangements to be made for students who, because of their diagnosed disability, are unable to be assessed in the same way as other students.
Please complete the Request for Special Disability Provisions form detailing what special external examination arrangements or special assessment considerations will be required for students with disabilities from your school or college. One form per student should be completed.
Students, teachers and counsellors are advised to consult the following TASC webpage for the request form and more information about this service.
The completed application MUST be returned to TASC by no later than the end of TERM 2.
Only emergency cases, such as a physical injury that occurs after the end of Term 2 and before the end of Term 3, that will impair a student undertaking their examinations will be considered for that year's examinations. These emergency applications MUST be with TASC by no later than the end of TERM 3.
NO special disability provisions will be granted from the end of Term 3. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE regardless of the circumstances. Applications received after this deadline will be treated under the rules for illness - refer to: www.tasc.tas.gov.au/0032.
The Special Disability Provisions application form is only to be used for students with a diagnosed disability who requires special arrangements to be made for their examinations. If a student is seeking exemption from an exam, a separate medical certificate is required - refer to: refer to: www.tasc.tas.gov.au/0032.
