NATIONAL SYLLABUS ENROLMENTS FOR 2006
The Assessment and Qualifications Section of the TQA would like to remind all teachers and students that enrolments in Nationally assessed languages are due to the Authority by no later than the end of Term 1.
Please refer to the information below (as forwarded via email on 8 March, 2006) for further details.
The following syllabuses are available for use by Tasmanian students. They are developed and maintained by one or more Australian senior secondary assessment agency. They are provided as a 'C' syllabus at level 5. All of the syllabuses include an external assessment component and are approved for tertiary entrance purposes.
Chinese - background speakers only
Korean - background speakers only
Persian - background speakers only
Russian - background speakers only
Schools should contact the TQA to obtain details of syllabus and assessment requirements in the above syllabuses.
If you have students who wish to be examined in one of the above syllabuses in 2006, please supply the following details to the TQA by no later than the end of TERM 1.
o TCE Code
o Name of student
o Syllabus Name
Early advice of interested students who will be returning from exchange during the year would also be appreciated. To enable organisation of the examinations for the above subjects, the authority will be UNABLE to accept any new enrolments in these syllabuses after Friday 28 July, 2006.
Those schools who have students wishing to be assessed in any of the above syllabuses will be expected to provide suitable examination supervision. Where special arrangements (for particular syllabuses) need to be made schools will be required to assist in meeting some of the costs involved.
NOTE: Syllabuses, past examination papers (where available) and assessment requirements can be obtained from the Tasmanian Qualifications Authority upon request.
