A registered training organisation must continue to meet the AQTF Essential Conditions and Standards for Continuing Registration to ensure the ongoing maintenance of its registered status. Continuing compliance with the AQTF Essential Conditions and Standards for Continuing Registration will be monitored through a variety of means, including compliance audits. Monitoring will be determined by the RTO's risk rating. The AQTF National Guidelines for a Registering Body outlines the principles and risk management processes applied by State and Territory registering bodies. These are used to determine the scope and schedule of audits. If an RTO is unable to demonstrate compliance at audit, any non-compliant findings must be cleared within 20 working days, in accordance with the AQTF National Guidelines for a Registering Body. At any point throughout the registration period the registering body may give a direction in relation to training programs and/or the training organisation. The TQA also has the power to impose sanctions according to the provisions of the Vocational Education and Training Act 1994.
