Detailed Information Purpose of Course Accreditation What can be accredited as a course? Review of Accreditation Decisions
|
Accreditation is the formal recognition by the Tasmanian Qualifications Authority (TQA) of a course qualification. This function is carried out in accordance with the Vocational Education and Training Act 1994 (No. 88 of 1994) and the Tasmanian Qualifications Authority Act 2003 (No. 62 of 2003) When a course is accredited it means it becomes nationally recognised and meets national quality assurance requirements. Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) Guidelines for Course Developers Who accredits courses? The State or Territory course accrediting body, or its delegate, is responsible for the accreditation of courses. In Tasmania the Tasmanian Qualifications Authority (TQA) has the power under the Vocational Education and Training Act 1994 (No. 88 of 1994) to accredit courses. The day-to-day operations of the TQA are carried out by the Recognition team of the TQA. For further information contact: TQA Quality Assurance Officers Telephone: (03) 6233 6364 |
