In studying Media Productions, students will develop an understanding of a range of aspects of the media at TQA level 3. Students will explore the media through practical experiences. Students will form into production teams within learning environments that simulate a professional setting in order to develop products in a specific medium.

Through acquisition of technical, narrative and analytical skills students will develop the ability to critically assess and appreciate the operational functions and social implications of their medium of specialisation.

  • community confidence in the integrity and meaning of the qualification.

Media Production (MED315112) - the Authority gives course providers feedback about any systematic differences in the relationship of their internal and external assessments and, where appropriate, seeks further evidence through audit and requires corrective action in the future.

Providers are required to document effective procedures for between-class within-provider comparability of internal assessment, including a procedure for students to seek review of their assessment decisions.

NOTE: 2011 only

The external assessment structure for this Level 3 course is as follows:

*  A 2 hour written examination paper that assesses criteria 7 and 8.

*  A folio that assesses criteria 1, 6 and 9.
