Schools courses
An applicant must be a registered school and be registered to deliver the coures(s) to domestic students before it can submit an application to deliver schools courses to overseas stduents studying in Australia.
ELICOS courses:
ELICOS (English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students) forms a significant part of Australia's international education sector. In July 2011 the ELICOS Standards were made legislative instruments under Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) legislation. All ELICOS providers are now required to meet the Standards to be registered on CRICOS.
If a provider applies to accredit an ELICOS course, it will need to provide evidence in its application (and, if necessary, in supporting documentation) that it will meet the requirements of the National Standards for ELICOS providers and courses.
Foundation Programs:
Foundation Programs (FPs) are courses designed for international students to equip them with the skills and capabilities to seek entry into higher education programs in Australia. Generally, FPs provide an academic entry pathway to first year undergraduate study or its equivalent. In July 2011 the Foundation Program Standards were made legislative instruments under Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) legislation. All Foundation Program providers are now required to meet the Standards to be registered on CRICOS.
If a provider applies to accredit FPs, it will need to provide evidence in its application (and, if necessary, in supporting documentation) that it will meet the requirements of the National Standards for Foundation Programs.
