eExam arrangements in 2011

The 2011 TQA examination for ITS315108 Information Technology and Systems will be held using the eExam computer based delivery system.

Most schools are familiar with this system as they used it for their mid-year exams in 2010. The exam is delivered on, and written to a USB stick provided by the TQA.

To prepare students for the arrangements, the TQA will be:
  • providing a 'practice' exam for each student. This will be circulated at the end of Term 1. To facilitate the provision of adequate copies, please advise the TQA by May 6 of the number of students studying and how many would be using a Macintosh computer (either school owned or student laptop).

  • providing a 'mid-year' exam for use under 'examination' conditions. These will be circulated in the week starting July 4. Teachers will be expected to download their student answers and do all necessary marking. The USB sticks MUST then be forwarded to the TQA to enable end of year processes to be tested.

Schools are expected to provide suitable computer facilities for their students. This will usually be a 'computer lab' capable of seating all the candidates together.

Students may use their own laptop computers provided they have a screen size of at least 10" and a 240v power connection.

In order to boot Macintosh computers will need access to a DVD drive .
