Mathematics Specialised

Mathematics Specialised is designed for mathematically able students who intend to undertake tertiary studies involving mathematics. Through the study of this course, students will be able to:
  • demonstrate an understanding of finite and infinite sequences and series
  • demonstrate an understanding of matrices and linear transformations
  • use differential calculus and apply integral calculus to areas and volumes
  • use techniques of integration and solve differential equations
  • demonstrate an understanding of complex numbers.
It is recommended that most students attempting this course will have previously successfully completed Mathematics Methods TQA level 3. It is also possible to study this course concurrently with Mathematics Methods TQA level 3.
